'06 Maserati Coupe GT, Or any Cambiocorsa. This one is just an example of what I'd want with one. An actual 6-Speed manual (No shitty F1 here), and under 40,000 miles. $30,000. When I'll be able to buy something better in five years, These will probably go down another $5,000 in value.
Also note: This is only a speculation, I would not be buying one in all likelihood.
Why these are awesome.
1. 6-Speed manual.
2. Ferrari derived engine.
3. Golddiggers like the word "Maserati."
4. You can pretend you are rich.
5. They sound like automotive coitus.
6. DD-able, if you have enough money to keep it running.
7. Not-As-much as a Ferrari to maintain.
8. Backseat.
Maintenance costs are up there for sure, But there has to be some sketchy independent shop full of ex-Ferrari mechanics that got fired for a couple of DUIs that can do it for cheap.
SO, Why shouldn't I.

There's some for 15,000. And according to some owners, they aren't that horrible to live with.
If I recall correctly, an Opponaut who lives in NYC or something has one. I'd like to consult with him/her if I know their username.

Yeah, I know about him. But there's somebody else, Whoever it was talked about like a unique paintjob or something for his. I don't think he's very active unless I'm missing the obvious though. The car was silver I think.

Yeah, I've lost interest really :/
I'd still love a bike, But I know I wouldn't be able to ride it to work easily and just feel that I'd rather have a second car currently. Things change with me a lot though, but I'm probably going to hold off for a few years.

Cambiocorsa denotes the flappy-paddle "F1" gearbox, not the name of the car. It literally means "race change." It's also terrible.

That $30K is just the price of entry. I love these cars and would like to ave one someday as a play thing, but never, ever as a DD. I see them in their natural environments all the time, on the back of a tow truck.

I thought those were only available with the shitty paddle-shift transmission, so I'm assuming an actual manual transmission equipped car is relatively rare.
Maintenence will be horrid, and it's not the best color (that car in red looks fantastic) but overall that's still a really neat car.

Quit yer lollygagging and buy it ... you only live once ... it will get you at least one really leggy blonde to say yes to a date ... you will love the sound it makes ... kids will think you're some kind of international playboy super-spy ... if you're married it will keep the Mrs. worried enough to give up a little more lovin' than usual.

You don't even know how screwed I am. I'm going to spend ALL my money on Italian cars now. It was a bad idea to get my Dad into Italian cars. When I drive his cars everything else seems silly. German cars seem so ho-hum after driving an Italian car. The German cars are (usually, not always) more reliable and (usually, not always) cheaper to maintain. But they sure seem so much less special when you switch from an Italian V12 or V8 to a German V8 or I6/H6.
The sound. My god the sound. Italians are masters of sound.
The Aston V12 sounds damn good too when after market exhaust is installed or the driver is giving the car the beans.

The Italians really are the masters of sound. Who knew that they could make a tiny ass Fiat 500 Abarth sound like it's trying to conjure Satan?
There are so many heavily depreciated Italian cars that I'd love to have. I just wish that Alfa had more offerings in the United States. I did see a mule Mito. But that was about five years ago in Los Angles.

Haha good point!
Yeah I wish we had more Alfas too
Oh I forgot to tell you the best thing about recent Italian cars - they're not as Italian as you'd expect! My Dad does his own maintenance on the F430 and 612. He said a TON of the components are German.

HOW DOES HE DO THAT? Haha, He must be a car God. But good thing they're German. I'd expect Lamborghini do, After all the B7 A4 uses the same Nav system as the Galladro. Because VAG.

He is a car NUT. He wrenches 7 days a week for fun. He knows he's totally addicted.
He just loves challenges. Now that he's used to the Ferraris he doesn't think they are any harder to maintain than a German luxury car is.
Yeah VAG uses a ton of Audi parts in Lambos. Which is why the Gallardo has a functioning NAV system. The F430 had nav but it's unusable. But it doesn't really matter since everyone uses their phones these days...

That's awesome. Glad to see somebody who actually maintains their own super expensive cars. Most of the people that I know who have expensive cars would bring them into the shop if they have a flat tire.
That nav system is pretty horrible though, but pretty good compared to some of the other systems of the same time. The B7 A4 that I used to have had one of them, the only cool thing about it was how the nav screen would actually flip outwards, and you could stick a micro sd card into there.

why not buy one, drive it around for a year, then get rid of it? Are you really going to have to do that much maintenance and repair in a years time?

A woman that is a regular customer at the gas station I work at owned a Maserati. I believe it was a newer Quattroporte. I complemented her on it once, and she said she loved it, and she's had it about sixth months. A week later I saw it going through town on the back of a tow truck. The next time she got gas she had one of another color, which I asume was a dealership loaner. She now drives a Cadillac CTS.
